Celebrating the Fellside 20th Anniversary Pilgrimage ....
It’s a worthwhile exercise to go through the list and see which of the fruits we could do with more off. If you speak to my wife Deborah she would say I need more patience! With that in mind I like the following story which I first came across a few years ago.
A lonely man decided that he would get a pet. Off he goes to the pet shop and tells the lady who worked there that he wanted to get an unusual pet. After a lengthy discussion he finally bought a centipede which came in a little white box. He took the box home and found a good place to keep it. He decided he would start off by taking his new pet out. So he asked the centipede in the box, “Would you like to go to The Brown Cow with me and have a beer?”
But there was no answer from his new pet. This bothered him a bit, but he waited a few minutes and then asked him again, “How about coming to The Brown Cow and having a drink with me?” But again there’s no answer from his new pet. He waits for another few minutes, thinking about the situation and decides to ask once again. By this time he’s getting a bit impatient so he shouts, “Hey, you in there, would you like to go out for a drink with me?”
A little voice came out of the box. “I heard you the first time, I’m putting on my shoes.”
With every blessing,
